You've likely heard of Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion, Acadia, and some of the other large U.S. national parks. However, there are a large number of national parks outside the United States that are equally unbelievably beautiful and well worth seeing, and you can include them in your travel plans. The following introduces some of the most charming scenery, waiting for you to visit.

1. Brazil: Lençóis Maranhenses National Park

Located on the north coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Brazil, Lençóis Maranhenses is a huge field composed of sand dunes. The ideal time to visit is from May to September, as during the rainy season, the depressions between the dunes form colorful and crystal-clear lakes that offer an out-of-this-world view.

2. Costa Rica: Corcovado National Park

This tropical rainforest, which covers nearly half of Costa Rica's Osa Penninsula, is a must-see for wildlife lovers. This is one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth. A haven for wildlife, there are cougars, jaguars, crocodiles, tropical birds, and turtles. And the most exciting thing is that all 4 species of monkeys in this country are present here. If you want to go, you can book a room in one of the many eco-hotels in the town of Drake Bay outside the park or in the town of Puerto Jimenez.

3. Croatia: Plitvice Lakes National Park

When it comes to Croatia, you may think of small towns within the ancient city walls, hidden beaches, and ports with people coming and going, but there is more than that. Plitvice Lakes National Park, located in the middle of the country, is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site with 16 emerald-like lakes, waterfalls, limestone canyons, winding paths, and many more. The scenery is crisscrossed and colorful.

4. Rwanda: Volcanoes National Park

Has anyone ever dreamed of hiking through a forest next to the home of silverback gorillas? Well, that dream can become a reality in Volcanoes National Park, a two-hour drive from the country's capital, Kigali. There is a limit to the number of tourists who can enter the national park each day, so you must plan your itinerary in advance, but adventurous travelers should factor this once-in-a-lifetime trip into their budget.

5. Canada: Banff National Park

If anyone is imagining what paradise looks like, it probably looks a lot like Banff National Park. Located in the Canadian Rockies (Canadian Rockies), right where Alberta (Alberta) and British Columbia (British Columbia) meet. There are emerald blue glacial lakes Moraine and Louise, snow-capped alpine peaks, canyons and epic scenic roads.

6. Italy: Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park

Italy's landscape is indeed colorful. There are numerous metropolitan cities, fishing villages on the coast, and small medieval towns. And don't forget the majestic mountains, because in northern Italy, there is the Dolomiti Belluno National Park. Although this majestic mountain scenery is only an hour and a half drive from Venice, it feels unimaginably far away, and it is really different from those canals and squares. Remember to visit Monti del Sole (Sun Mountain), where the terrain is rugged, and the surrounding mountains and grasslands are unimaginable.

7. Ecuador: The Galapagos National Park

The park covers almost all of the Galapagos Islands, a sea of volcanic islands off the coast of Ecuador. For those who love wildlife, this is definitely a must-visit place. The park is located where the three great rapids of the Pacific Ocean meet, making it one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in the world. When tourists visit here, it is possible to see many species of animals, such as penguins, giant tortoises, sea lions and whale sharks.
