Japan is a very developed country in industry and technology, second only to the United States. The territory of Japan consists of Hokkaido, Honshu, the four small countries and the island of Kyushu. Japan has many famous human landscapes and natural scenery. Among them, Mount Fuji in Japan is famous all over the world and is known as the first mountain in Japan.

Mount Fuji is located in the central and southern part of Honshu Island, about 80 kilometers east of Tokyo, spanning between Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures in Japan. It is 3775.63 meters high, with a circumference of 125 kilometers at the bottom of the mountain, covering an area of about 1200 square kilometers. The body of Mount Fuji is conical in shape. From 2,300 meters above sea level to the top of the mountain is covered with volcanic lava and volcanic sand, and the top of the mountain has a lower temperature and is covered with snow all year round, which looks like a glittering snow cap under the sunlight.

The formation of Mount Fuji began about 11,000 years ago, due to the strong collision and extrusion of plates, which caused the crustal uplift to form "Old Mount Fuji". Shortly thereafter, a massive volcanic eruption began on the west side of the top of the ancient Mount Fuji, and the lava eventually formed the main body of the new Mount Fuji. Since then, the old and new Mount Fuji coexisted, and the volcanic eruption of the new Mount Fuji continued until 8,000 years ago. Then, under the continuous erosion of external forces, the smaller ancient Mount Fuji finally collapsed, leaving only the new Mount Fuji, which is now Mount Fuji.

Mount Fuji is an active volcano. Since it was recorded in AD 781, Mount Fuji has erupted 18 times in total. The last eruption of Mount Fuji was in AD 1707. Since then, Mount Fuji has not erupted again and entered a "dormant period".
